Exchange settings
Use this payload to enter the user’s settings for your Microsoft Exchange server.
Note: Use the Exchange payload for iOS and OS X user and user group configuration profiles. For more information, see About profiles and payloads and Payload best practices.
You can create a profile for a particular user by specifying the user name, host name, and email address, or you can provide just the host name—users are prompted to fill in the other values when they install the profile. iOS devices use ActiveSync to communicate with Exchange. Mac computers with OS X Lion v10.7 or later use Exchange Web Services.
When the Use SSL option is selected and the server’s SSL certificate isn’t issued by a trusted certificate authority known to the devices, use the Certificates payload to add any root or intermediate certificates that are necessary to validate the server’s SSL certificate.
To provide a certificate that identifies the user to the Exchange Server, click Add , and then select an identity certificate file. After adding a certificate, you can embed the certificate’s passphrase in the configuration profile. If you don’t provide the passphrase, the user is asked to enter it when the profile is installed.
