Printing settings

Use the Printer payload to specify which printers are configured for use, and apply a footer to every page that is printed.

To add printers to the Printers List, first add them to the Printers & Scanners pane of System Preferences on the server running Profile Manager.

Adding page footers to all printouts helps users identify their printouts. This is especially useful in education environments where students might print nearly identical assignments. The footer includes the user’s long name and the date and time the user sent the print job. The date and time is based on the user’s computer’s date and time, not the server’s.
