Setting | Description |
---|---|
Backup Server | URL of the backup destination, such as afp://server.example.com/backups/. |
Back up all volumes | When this option is chosen, all mounted volumes are backed up by default. |
Back up system files and folders | When this option is chosen, OS X system files and folders are backed up. |
Enable automatic backups | When this option is chosen, backups are handled automatically, instead of having the user perform them manually. |
Enable local snapshots | When this option is chosen, Time Machine creates local backup snapshots if the backup destination is offline (for Mac portables with OS X v10.8 or later). |
Backup size limit | You can enter a limit in MB for the size of the backup. Leaving this value blank or entering a zero places no limit on the amount of data backed up. |
Paths to skip | Click Add to enter additional volumes and locations to exclude from the backup. |
