Add Apple TV devices

You can enroll Apple TV devices in Profile Manager and restrict them to certain users or groups using AirPlay.

  1. In the Profile Manager sidebar, select Devices.

  2. Click Add add button, and then choose Add Placeholder from the pop-up menu.

  3. Choose Apple TV from the Device Type pop-up menu.

  4. Enter a name for this device, such as Science Room Apple TV.

  5. Enter the Bonjour Device ID for the Apple TV.

    Using the Apple TV remote, go to Settings > General > About. Press Up on the remote until the ID is displayed. It’s similar to a MAC address ID, such as ab:12:ab:12:ab:12.

  6. Configure the device with passwords for password-protected AirPlay destinations users can connect to.

    Because you enter passwords here, you can minimize the number of people who need to know the passwords.

  7. Click Add to register the device.

    The Apple TV is now registered with Profile Manager. To manage the AirPlay payload, see AirPlay settings.
